The 5 Station Poker Run is a local motorcycle fund-raising ride between five Fire Stations in Rodney District, just north of Auckland, New Zealand. It's a fun, relaxed and safe event, with pillion riders welcome and the emphasis on enjoying a ride with other motorcycle enthusiasts. It is NOT a race! There are great spot prizes - and a major prize - and time at the end of the run to enjoy a meal and spend some time with friends. And it's a great event to showcase your bike. Each year, one of the five Fire Stations involved - Kumeu, Muriwai, Shelly Beach, Helensville and Kaukapakapa - take turns to host the event. All funds raised go to the host station - in 2023 Shelly Beach hosted the event. For this year - our 18th - Helensville Fire Brigade is the host station. The five volunteer fire brigades involved in the 5 Station Poker Run all work together on fire calls around the district, and the Run is a way for members to get together in a social way, while raising funds at the same time. Taking turns to host the event highlights the stations involved. How does it work?Pre-purchase your tickets (see below) then turn up at the start - this year at Helensville Fire Station, 9 Rata Street, Helensville - with your bike, pillion if you have one, and a full tank of gas. A cooked breakfast and coffee cart will be available before the start, from 8.30am (cost not included in ticket). You will be given your last card here, and a card at each of the four other stations you visit along the way. At the end of the run, whoever has the best poker hand wins the major prize! Registrations start at 8.30am, with the run getting under way at 10am. Tickets are just $30.00 per person pre-purchased online, or $35.00 purchased on the day, which includes your meal - and remember, all proceeds will go to the Helensville Fire Brigade. Commemorative T-shirts will be available for purchase on the day, too. Don't forget to tell your mates, and check out the photos on our Facebook page! TicketsOnline tickets must be pre-purchased before close off date of Wednesday, November 20th. Tickets will also be available for purchase on the day at the station at $35.00pp. For further information phone Stephen on 021 672 469 or email: stephen@grabit.kiwi
